Keyword Density & Optimised Content
Smiths Internet Services
The content on your website is important when you want to rank well in the search engines so to obtain
good results you need to have the right keyword density and optimised content. Optimising the content on
your website does not mean that you spam keywords all throughout the page, if you do something like that
you can get penalised or even banned.
Optimised Content and Keyword Densities mean that you should have a decent amount of content i.e 200-300
words of text per page using relevant keywords. The density will depend on the amount of content and
most site will suggest a 2-4% ratio of keywords to content.
Another thing to be aware of is that your content should make sense, be useful to users and all keywords
used on that page should be relevant. Do not try and overload a page and optimise for a dozen phrases
per page as this will make your pages looks spammy and dilute the strength of your main targeted search
phrases.
